Are You Better Body Ready?
Your best body is right around the corner!
When seriously considering taking the next step toward that BBL (Brazilian butt lift), tummy tuck, or liposuction be prepared to take some action steps to ensure you get the best results.
First things first, make sure you do your due diligence when choosing the physician that will be completing your procedure.
Cosmetic surgeries, much like tattoos, are lasting and costly choices. So it’s important that you do your homework:
Is your plastic surgeon board certified?
Ask your potential surgeon if they are certified with the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS).
Cosmetic surgery is a large industry and many general surgeons are hoping to be a part of this trending industry. However, the U.S. government does not require plastic surgeons to be specifically trained in the cosmetic procedures they offer, which could land you in the middle of a general surgeon’s learning curve.
A board certified surgeon is a great starting point, but you still want to learn more about their portfolio of work and get their general aesthetic sense, as they will be assisting in fine tuning your new look.
More and more people are also still considering procedures done outside of the United States, and in that case ABCS certification does not apply. If you’re considering a procedure outside of the United States that same due diligence is required:
Research the doctor and facility
Check to see if the doctor has any relevant plastic surgery certifications in the country you’re considering having the procedure done
Follow any social media the doctor and/or facility are associated with
Call the facility and get a feel of the environment and to ensure that key personnel speak your language fluently
Join plastic surgery chat groups and ask others about the particular doctor.
If possible, don’t go alone
Have a plan for possible complications and recovery
